A Story of Hope
When Pauline joined LENDING HANDS INITIATIVE,She was uncertain of what the future held for her and her son Ryan having previously faced Stigma , misinformation and loss of her first to be diagnosed with sicklecell, she no longer knew what was right or wrong.Through our support group meetings, Pauline found her community she realised she was not alone and has become a champion for sicklecell disease. Her son Rodney has since benefited from our "Adopt a Warrior" programme where he's been receiving supplies of hydroxyurea a life saving medication in the management and care of persons living with sicklecell. This has significantly reduced the number of painful sicklecell crisis he experience in a year helping him enjoy playing with other children without pain.
